Whether you’re launching a small business, starting a portfolio, or creating a personal blog, this hands-on course will guide you step-by-step through building and publishing your own website using the WIX platform. Designed for beginners, this class covers the essentials of the WIX design environment, including working with templates, customizing layout and content, and connecting your site to a custom domain. By the end of the course, you’ll have a fully functional website — and the confidence to update and manage it on your own.

Please note: In this class both the Classic WIX free plan and WIX Studio will be discussed, but we will develop our sites using the Classic WIX free plan. However, in most cases, the premium plans will be recommended as the best path forward (and are easy to upgrade to). Our instructor has worked as a WordPress and WIX Web developer since 2008.

Prerequisites – Basic computer familiarity. Be sure to bring a current email address of yours that you can use to create your free WIX account, and a way to receive any authentication codes from that email when you create the free account. If you have a WIX account already, please bring the login credentials.   No coding required. Just bring your ideas — and get ready to go live!
