DAY 1: We will depart for the scenic Finger Lakes, aptly named with lakes shaped like an outstretched hand, and stop on the way in Seneca Falls, NY to visit the Women’s Rights National Historical Park. It tells the story of the first Women’s Rights Convention held there in 1848. Then on to Geneva where we’ll check into 41 Lakefront Hotel, Trademark Collection By Wyndham, located in the heart of the Finger Lakes region on the north shore of Seneca Lake, where we will spend 2 nights. Our hotel features spacious guestrooms, fitness center, pool and restaurant. Welcome dinner in the evening.
DAY 2: In the morning, we will visit the world-renowned Corning Museum of Glass and learn the history of glass from ancient times to Tiffany and Chihuly, and also see the exciting Hot Glass Show, where gobs of molten glass become masterpieces. Next, a tour of Pleasant Valley Winery, the oldest winery in the Finger Lakes, popularly known as the Great Western Winery. Its picturesque stone buildings are listed on the National Historic Register. Our walking tour will give us a glimpse of its rich history of the oldest winery in the Finger Lakes. (please note: this is a 1 hour walking tour with many stairs throughout the historic buildings). Dinner is at the New York Kitchen. We will enjoy a 3 course dinner in a demonstration theater setting for a unique educational experience as we watch our chef prepare dessert. DAY 3: We head for home this morning and enjoy the scenic beauty of the Mohawk Valley along the way. Enjoy a deli buffet lunch at Waterfront Grille before we hop aboard our cruise on the Historic Erie Canal with its locks. Our boat ride includes a “Lift Lock”, which is a liquid elevator that raises and lowers boats 20 feet. We will also learn the fascinating history of the locks and what transportation was like in the 19th century. Following the cruise, we’ll gather all the wonderful memories of the fabulous Finger Lakes and head home.
