Meet at local historical gardens such as The Webb Deane Stevens Garden, The Hill-Stead, and Elizabeth Park. Learn watercolor painting technique. We will discuss wet technique, dry brush, and glazes. We will cover composition and basic design principles. Still life and painting from life. Supply list to follow. Please come ready to paint at the first class. If it rains we will schedule a make-up class.

Iris Van Rynbach is the author/illustrator of numerous award-winning children’s books as well as an illustrator of New Yorker magazine covers. She has taught art related subjects at area colleges for the past 30 years. She has worked in watercolor since art school at Parson’s School of Design and Pratt.
